A new portable floating Bluetooth speaker developed by South Korea's LG Electronics will be showcased at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, featuring a 10-hour battery life.
The new gadget, PJ9, is usable in swimming pools, bathtubs and camping sites because its speaker is waterproof for 30 minutes with a depth of less than one meter, LG said.
It is mounted with two passive radiators that allow users to enjoy a more balanced bass and mid-range sound, the company said. Once it runs out of power, the oval-shaped floating device drops down to the cylindrical woofer station for charging.
There are a number of small floating Bluetooth speakers of just a few watts in the market, including the 7 Arc Star, a circular speaker ball which floats elegantly over the magnetic base connected to a power source. It lasts for eight hours on a full charge.
