Sulli, a former member of girl group f(x), has sparked a rare Instagram battle between fans and good haters in the latest round of cyber-bullying that has plagued the singer-actress for many years.

She has been the target of constant online hate comments for her actions out of the ordinary and Instagram images which were reminiscent of a cute and sexy teenage girl. Some compared her to Lolita, which has been used to imply that a young girl is sexually precocious.

Lolita is a 1962 British-American black comedy-drama film, based on the novel of the same title by Vladimir Nabokov, about a middle-aged man obsessed with a teenage girl.

"Stop saying Lolita, Lolita. Go pester somewhere else, and just look at my pretty face," the 22-year-old said in a bold and honest Instagram comment along with her picture, opening a battleground of comments counting over 18,000.

An Instagram user "memostaa" asked in a critical comment, "Who does she think she is?"  Another user "gravity.free" fumed: "What you have done is a crime. Emphasizing the sexuality of minors is what you did."

Cyberbullying, coupled with reckless online criticism that led to suicide, has been a serious social issue. Sulli was hospitalized in November with a wrist injury, sparking rumors that the wound was the result of an attempted suicide, although she insisted her injury was a mistake.

Earlier this year, the actress uploaded a set of photographs which she took with former KARA member Hara, drawing a barrage of criticism from female-centered online community users who think her daring images bore hidden sexual metaphors.

Yet, there are a small number of loyal fans who actively defended Sulli. A sympathetic fan "gh_moon" said, "I think you guys are filthy. The images were taken by a professional photographer. Can you not tell art from pornography?"

Sulli's reaction is quite rare as a celebrity in South Korea's entertainment circle. In most controversial cases, many celebrities show submissive attitudes, sometimes apologizing for nothing. On the contrary, she came out with aggressive or provocative comments, never kowtowing to an endless attack by cyber-bullies.

As her original comment became an online gladiator pit, Sulli uploaded a new image showing her and the hand painting of a dog, attached with a comment, "Woof, Woof". In South Korea, a dog's barking sound is sometimes used for describing a situation where someone is talking a load of bollocks.

The second post threw oil on the fire in a fresh battle of five thousand comments, with Sulli fans and haters exchanging vulgar words and insults.
