Apple published a wanted ad Friday through a homepage to recruit employees who will work at its first stand-alone flagship store in South Korea, a trend-setting market dominated by its global rival Samsung.

Apple's store has been under construction in Garosu-gil, an upscale street in Sinsa-dong in southern Seoul. The area, known as "Artists' Street", is popular with ginkgo trees and unique fashion stores.

"We are very happy to open our first Apple Store in South Korea, one of the global economic centers and the leader in the field of communication and technology," the multinational technology company said in a Korean-language post.

There have been unconfirmed reports that Apple would open its store in Garosu-gil in early 2018 at the latest. South Korean customers have complained about Apple's delayed and poor service.

Apple stores have a standardized appearance with light wood tables and a general minimal design. All stores offer a Genius Bar for technical support and repairs, free product workshops.
