As Tesla is gearing up for the opening of its first store in Seoul next week, the American company opened an online shop for South Korean consumers who have awaited its luxury sedan Model S.

The online store, supported by Tesla's official website, provides consumers with various information including options and prices. Tesla said on its website that Model S would be delivered in June.

A Model S 90D with no options such as an iconic autonomous driving feature "Autopilot" costs 125.3 million won (about 109,000 US dollars). In the US market, the same model is priced at $92,800. Tesla's sport utility vehicle (SUV) Model X is available for pre-orders only.

The electric vehicle giant is scheduled to open two stores in South Korea – one in a major shopping complex on March 15 and the other in Seoul's Gangnam district on March 17.

With Tesla jumping into South Korea's nascent electric vehicle market, others such as China's BYD and Hyundai are expected to accelerate their moves with electric vehicles.
