LG Display described US tech giant Google's reported investment in flexible OLED displays for smartphones as undecided amid market speculation about a strategic partnership between the two companies.

"Nothing has been concluded on this matter," the flat panel maker said in a regulatory filing, referring to news reports that Google wants a strategic investment of one trillion won (875 million US dollars) in an apparent attempt to secure a stable supply of flexible OLED displays for its "Pixel" smartphones.

LG 's statement was full of overtones as it said various clients are showing growing interest in the flexible OLED market. Google has been dependent on Samsung displays for its OLED Pixel smartphone unveiled in late 2016. LG is strong in flat panel TVs while Samsung supplies OLED displays to many smartphone makers including Apple.
