Jeju Island is a volcanic island, known for its beauty. It is the largest island of Korea and is located off of the southwest coastline. The weather of Jeju Island is moderate compared to the inland where it has defined four seasons.

It boasts many beautiful beaches, Hallasan- a volcano, Hallabong -a mandarin variety in Jeju, and fresh seafood.

Jeju is also known for its traditional female divers - "Haenyo" which means sea woman - who have been carrying on the centuries-old traditions of diving to hunt for shellfish especially abalones. They dive without oxygen tanks and can dive over 60 feet below the surfaces. They can hold their breath for up to two minutes. Naturally, Jeju cuisine is centered around the abundant seafood from the nearby sea.

It also has distinctively different architecture from the inland Korea and the island natives worship rock statues called Harubang. Jeju islanders believe Harubangs provide protection and fertility.
