Miranda Kerr happily tied the knot to Evan Spiegel, Snapchat CEO, last month, but her past relationship caught up to her earlier this month.

Kerr's ex-boyfriend Low Taek Jho, a 35 years old Malaysian financier, showered Miranda Kerr with expensive gifts and treatments soon after her divorce from actor Orlando Bloom was reported publicly. One problem though. He used Malaysian government funds to buy her jewelry.

Kerr is cooperating fully with the investigation. She surrendered $8.1 million worth of jewelry including 8.8-carat pink diamond pendant that was in her safety box to U.S. Department of Justice.

Allegedly Jho approached Miranda Kerr in February 2014 and invited her to spend time together in his superyacht worth $250 million. The yacht, Equanimity, was also purchased with the government fund. Jho had been sustaining his ostentatious lifestyle and gifting celebrities with Malaysian government money.

U.S. government has been assisting Malaysian government tracking and recovering embezzled money. The total of $4.5 billion had been siphoned.

Another Hollywood celebrity related to Jho's case is Leonardo DiCaprio who received a Picasso painting worth over $3 million. DiCaprio also surrendered the gift to the investigators and has been fully cooperating with the case.
