Female singer-songwriter Juniel will release "Last Carnival", a song based on her past experience, to raise awareness on date violence which has become a new social issue.
"It's a song about a wounded heart that would never heal," the 23-year-old said in a statement on Tuesday. "I did not want to recall those memories but I wish this song to help people understand how date violence victims feel."
According to police data, there were 8,367 date violence cases last year, compared to 76,675 in 2014. However, the police believe there are a lot of unknown cases as only 15 percent of date violence victims reach out for help.
