At stage 6 on August 3, a miniature pony appeared out of nowhere and joined the race for about one minute, stealing the show. In the video shared by CyclingHubTV, the pony even speeded up when a group of cyclists passed by as if the pony knew that is was partaking in a race.

The pony weaved through the cyclists but it was clear that the pony was reaching its limit. It skidded and almost fell making a sharp turn around the corner. Eventually, one of the cyclists, later identified as Roman Maikin from Russia, gently ushered the pony off the race course. It galloped away valiantly.
