A strange but delightful international trend, inspired by K-pop band EXO, has hit the streets. People across the world are mimicking the boy group's dance moves in hilarious ways and thousands of videos are flooding the web.
The popular trend is "Ko Ko Bop Challenge", named after EXO's latest hit song "Ko Ko Bop". The K-pop inspired online challenge requires fans to film a video of themselves or others performing a short choreography part from the popular song. Also, the performers have to designate a person or a group at the end of the video or using a hash tag "#KoKoBopChallenge" so that the challenge can be continued.
According to American trend analysis platform Brand24, the number of people searching for the keyword "KoKoBopChallenge" has spiked since last Saturday and it was searched more than 2.3 million times on Thursday night. The analysis platform estimates that there are more than 1,500 videos of the "Ko Ko Bop Challenge" uploaded online.
