Samsung Electronics has expanded "Bixby", an AI voice assistant service to about 200 countries worldwide so that the platform could learn and study user experience on mobile devices through machine learning.

"Bixby's expanded service will provide more opportunities for the AI to learn and study how people use mobile devices," Rhee Injong, the executive vice president of Samsung's mobile communications division, said in a statement. "It would become a chance for Bixby to evolve so that it could provide tailored services to each user in the near future."

Bixby is a default feature installed in Samsung's latest smartphones -- "Galaxy S8" and "Galaxy S8+". On voice commands, the AI would carry out tasks like searching for a keyword on the web or changing the master's schedule in an online calendar and letting related people know of the change.

There are about 1.3 million people using the Korean version of Bixby worldwide. It has carried out an accumulated number of 250 million voice command tasks since its debut at home in May. In July, Samsung provided the English version of Bixby in the United States.

Samsung is the latecomer in the AI voice industry dominated by Google, Amazon, Apple and Microsoft armed with their own AI voice assistant platforms. Securing many users is very important to their survival. Sometimes AI mimics human actions to make its action look more natural.
