It all started from a bad idea. Then a man from New Mexico made a very bad decision to execute the idea, ended up looking like a very bruised balloon.

Angelo Drew Martinez, a 20-year-old man from New Mexico, tried to carjack three football players on the night of August 11.

The three football players were heading to one of the teammates' car after the practice to head home together when they found Martinez lingering around the car. When the car owner asked Martinez what he was doing with his car, Martinez innocently said he was hoping to get a ride.

The football players kindly offered him a ride home, only to have Martinez whip out a pistol on them.

Before the incident, Martinez changed his destination numerous times and finally had the driver pulled in front of a home in Albuquerque. Then Martinez pulled out a gun and ordered them to get out of the car.

As the players were getting out, one of them saw Martinez fumbling with the firearm and threw a forceful blow in his face. Two teammates joined in and punched the suspect into pulp. They dragged him out of the car and discovered the gun was fake. They held the carjacker down until the authorities arrived at the scene.

Authorities found a knife hidden in the suspect's waistband and a note in his pocket that read, "Give me the key to your wip and a nobody get heart. I know where you live so don't make me kill."

The mugshot of Martinez taken on the same night went viral since it was shared online. In the photo, his eyes were swollen shut and his face was covered with cuts and bruises. Martinez was charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and an attempt to commit a felony. He was released from jail last Thursday.

This is not the first arrest for Martinez. He has histories of carjacking and shoplifting.

The photo of Angelo Martinez with severely beaten face went viral on social media and made headlines all over the world. Many who read the story and saw the photo expressed their hilarity on Martinez's poor decision to carjack a car from three athletes.
