With a frown, thousands of South Koreans watched a bizarre scene broadcast live through an online video platform showing a live streamer disassembling a PlayStation 4 swarming with cockroaches.
PlayStation 4 (PS4) is a line of eighth-generation home video game consoles developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
"This…. situation is the Fourth Industrial Revolution. There are about 26,000 people who gathered to watch cockroaches," said "iamyoongoon", a user of Twitch, a live streaming platform, as he started to pull apart the console he purchased from a secondhand dealer.
The live streamer said he started a journey of agony after he detected a foul smell coming out of the gaming machine and saw three cockroaches crawling out into the corners of his room.
The chatting room was filled with moans of disgust as the live streamer removed the cover of the PS4 on the rooftop of his home to find dead cockroaches stuck in a cooling fan. Some cockroaches disappeared into his house.
After an operation for several hours, the streamer finally cleaned his console. About 40 live cockroaches were found inside. He finished his live broadcast saying he will start cleaning his car that carried the console.
