South Korea's First Lady Kim Jung-sook has personally prepared a special hydrangea tea blended with oriental and western herbs for weeks for teatime with U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, at the presidential Blue House.

The tea was named "Serene Morning of Pyeongchang", after the eastern ski resort which will host the 2018 Winter Olympics this winter. It has harmonious aroma because of its blended herbs and holds a meaning of unification and a strong alliance between Seoul and Washington, according to the president's office.

Kim has also prepared chocolate-coated "gotgam" refreshments for teatime that follows talks between President Moon Jae-in and Trump. She picked persimmons from a tree in the presidential residence to dry them in a traditional way under the eaves of the presidential residence.

Kim, who is well known for her cooking skills, has served important guests to the Blue House with her own dishes. Moon's office posted a photo of the first lady reading a newspaper under the hanging persimmons on its Instagram account.
