A consortium led by South Korea's Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction has clinched a 1.15 trillion won (one billion US dollars) preliminary deal to build a coal-fired power plant in South Africa.
The power equipment giant said in a statement Tuesday that a formal contract would be signed in May. The consortium includes Doosan Heavy and Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO). Doosan Heavy will provide gas turbines and boilers.
