SEOUL, Dec. 26 (Aju News) -- Heize, a singer who came under the spotlight in 2017, was hospitalized after her performance at an annual end-of-the-year music show.
Various news outlets, including Yonhap News Agency, reported Monday quoting an anonymous person who is close to the 26-year-old, that the singer showed symptoms of pharyngitis, an infection of the area on the back of the throat and tonsils, from a few days before the "2017 SBS Gayo Daejun". She was reported to have fainted as soon as she arrived home and immediately carried to a hospital in Seoul on Sunday.
The source also speculated that Heize's recent busy schedules could have taken a toll on her and she may undergo a surgery to recover her condition. The singer has been attending end-of-the-year live music shows one after another this month as well as attending festivals and other private group events.
Heize, who debuted in 2014, received music fans' attention this year with hit songs such as "You, Clouds, Rain" "Don’t Know You" and "Star", recently was given multiple awards including the best female solo performance award at the 2017 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
