SEOUL, Jan. 18 (Aju News) -- Singer Jung Joon-young started a new double career as a professional gamer Thursday for Battlegrounds, a free-for-all deathmatch game which has gained global popularity, his management agency said Thursday.
The 29-year-old joined Team KONGDOO, a professional team of gamers for Battlegrounds, developed by a South Korea company, which is now one of the world's most popular games.
Jung said he would try hard because he knows well about the difference between being a fan and a pro-gamer.
Jung got caught up in a sex scandal involving his former girlfriend in September 2016 and voluntarily suspended public activities. The singer was accused of filming her secretly during their sexual activities. The ex-girlfriend dropped her suit after police failed to find any clear evidence that she was recorded without prior consent. He returned to the entertainment scene in February 2017.
