SEOUL, Feb. 21 (Aju News) -- A 35-year-old impotent man was sentenced to death Wednesday for strangling a school friend of his teenage daughter after drugging her to sleep for molestation with sex toys to satisfy his sexual desire.
A criminal court in Seoul ruled that Lee Young-hak deserves heavy punishment for his brutal crime that brought "a miserable result that can not be recovered" to the victim.
The court said that Lee may commit "more cruel and perverted crimes" because he showed no remorse. He was found guilty of killing the 14-year-old girl in September last year at his home in Seoul.
Lee has confessed to using sleeping pills for his sexual molestation, strangling the ill-fated girl in an attempt to cover up his crime, and dumping her body in a remote mountain. The man was also accused of mediating the prostitution of his wife with ten men for three months last year and taping their sexual relations. The wife committed suicide later.
Lee, who lost all but one molar because of a rare dental disease, earned the nickname the "molar father" after appearing on a TV show that sparked a social campaign to donate 940 million won (882,620 US dollars) to his family. He had led a luxurious life with donations and government allowances.
Lee's 15-year-old daughter received a jail term of up to six years for Lee's daughter for aiding her father's crime. His brother was given a one-year jail sentence for helping Lee collect money, and another was sentenced to eight months in prison for aiding Lee's flight.
