SEOUL, Feb. 22 (Aju News) -- Hyundai Engineering & Construction, a major South Korean builder, said Thursday that it has won a joint order with Japanese and Dutch partners to reclaim land from the ocean in Singapore.

Hyundai Engineering said it has teamed up with Penta-Ocean Construction, a Japanese firm specializing in marine works and land reclamation, and Boskalis of the Netherlands to take part in the Tuas Terminal Phase 2 project pushed by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.

The $1.1 billion project aims to reclaim land for the construction of a pier, port terminal and supplementary facilities by March 7, 2027. Hyundai Engineering's share is 35 percent, or $390 million. The company has long been involved in a series of land reclamation and construction projects in Singapore.
