SEOUL, Feb. 26 (Aju News) -- Samsung Electronics introduced Galaxy S9 and S9+, the company's latest smartphones capable of taking great quality photographs even in low-light environments, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), an annual mobile trade show in Spain.
As tech companies competitively release high-performance smartphones, their ability to take good pictures have become a vital selling point. Samsung is well known for good cameras every time it releases a new smartphone.
Samsung said through its news blog that its new smartphones feature a dual-lens camera with apertures which allows more light into sensors when it's dark in a similar way the human iris opens and closes accordingly to the brightness of the surrounding environment.
Samsung's new phones are also equipped with high-performance octa-core processors -- Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and Samsung Exynos 9810 -- to support the imaging process and other powerful features such as AI assistant and augmented reality (AR).
However, the processors of S9 and S9+ are 10nm, 64-bit chips, which are slower than the latest 7nm chips. Samsung promised to release the S9 series on March 16 in the United States, China and other markets.
