SEOUL -- New uniforms South Korea's national football team will wear at the 2018 FIFA World Cup have been unveiled. They were designed by global sportswear brand Nike.
Inspired by South Korea's national flag Taegeukgi and Hallyu (Korean cultural wave), the home jersey for the national team features a red shirt, black shorts and red socks. The away outfit was all white, with the shirt adorned with a "Taegeuk" wave pattern that symbolizes Hallyu.
Taegeuk, the Korean form of the Chinese term Taiji, or "supreme ultimate", refers to the graphical symbol composed of interlocking semi-circles chosen for the design of South Korea's national flag.
The Korea Football Association said the players will wear the red-shirt home kit in the friendly matches against Northern Ireland and Poland this month.
