SEOUL -- South Korea's military denied news reports that BIGBANG member G-Dragon would be assigned as a military trainer at a boot camp.

G-Dragon finished his training Thursday at a frontline boot camp. There have been unconfirmed news reports that he would be assigned as a military trainer because the 29-year-old singer showed his outstanding physical and mental performance during his training.

The Army said in a statement that G-Dragon would continue his service as a regular soldier. Dogged by allegations that the singer had tried to postpone his mandatory military service, G-Dragon joined the boot camp in February. He would be discharged in November 2019.
