SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in will consider attending the opening ceremony of the Asian Games this summer if Indonesia sends an official invitation to the leaders of the two Koreas, his office said Wednesday.

Indonesia has expressed its desire to invite South and North Korean leaders to the Asian Games in August, but Moon has yet to receive an official invitation, the presidential office said. "When an official invitation comes, we will consider it in light of (Moon's) diplomatic schedule in the latter half of the year."

South and North Korean sports officials have discussed a joint march at the Asiad opening ceremony and the creation of unified teams at some events.

If Moon decides to go, that would be his third summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The two leaders held a historic summit in April and another in May, both in the truce village of Panmunjom.
