SEOUL -- D2SF, a startup-nurturing wing of South Korea's largest web portal Naver, has made separate investments into three technology startups which develop artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous driving technologies.

Naver said on Thursday that D2SF has invested in Makina Rocks, an AI-based production optimization service provider, and Mobiletech, a creator of 3D precision maps for self-driving cars. The third company was Poza Labs, an AI-based music writing and composing solution developer.

"The three startups have unique technologies in the rare fields," said Naver, which established its startup nurturing wing in 2015. It has invested in 23 startups so far.

AI is now a key technology in many industries. The technology optimizes solutions and services to reduce management and development costs and provide the best service for customers.  The global AI market is expected to reach $89.8 billion by 2025, according to Statistica, a New York-based market analysis firm.
