SEOUL -- The selling power of BTS albums was ballistic at home. The group stood first in first-half album sales compiled by Gaon Chart, South Korea's state-run music chart service which provides a variety of charts including weekly and monthly song rankings.
According to Gaon Chart, BTS sold 1,748,213 copies of "LOVE YOURSELF: Tear", the latest album released in May. The group's latest album was also popular abroad, maintaining its No.1 spot in Billboard's World Albums Chart for two weeks in a row.
In Gaon Chart, albums released by project boy band Wanna One stood second and third -- 841,844 copies of "0+1=1 (I PROMISE YOU)" and 638,650 copies of "1÷x=1 (UNDIVIDED)".
In the top 100 most popular digital song chart, hip-hop band iKON took the crown with "LOVE SCENARIO". The song, released in January, was streamed more than 100 million times.
