SEOUL -- Samsung C&T, a trading and construction arm of South Korea's Samsung group, won a fresh order to build an underpass in the third stage of a major construction project in Australia.

The company said in a regulatory filing Monday that it received an 882.6 billion won ($784 million) order to build a 12.9 kilometer-long road by June 2023. Samsung C&T has been involved in the first and second stage of WestConnex, which has been Australia's largest transportation project to build a 33-kilometers motorway.

In 2015, Samsung C&T took part in the first stage in a $680 million deal. For the second stage, the company formed a consortium with Australian and Spanish companies to win a $2.8 billion order with Samsung responsible for 30 percent. The project to build about 14 km of road above ground and 19 km of tunnels will be delivered in stages to 2023
