S. Korea's KT teams up with healthcare company for joint entry into Russia

SEOUL -- KT, a leading telecom company in South Korea, established strategic cooperation with Ascend Care, a European healthcare company, to conduct a joint survey for their entry into Russia's digital healthcare market in 2019.

KT said in a statement Tuesday that an agreement on stratic cooperation was signed with Ascend Care on the sidelines of a business forum in Russia's far eastern port city of Vladivostok. "With this agreement, KT will accelerate its entry into Eurasia beyond Russia," KT president Koo Hyun-mo was quoted as saying.

KT will support marketing and provide mobile health diagnostic solutions based on information and communication technology (ICT), while Ascend Care will acquire Russian certification for KT's digital healthcare solutions and take care of sales and an after-sales service channel.

KT, known for advanced technologies in telecommunications and connectivity, has provided digital healthcare solutions to hospitals in South Korea and other countries.
