SEOUL -- New medical wireless smart glasses were commercialized in South Korea. Using high-precision silicon organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with proven superior clarity and picture quality, it provides sharper images than monitors.
On Tuesday, MediThinQ, a medical equipment producer, released GV-100, the first product of its medical wireless smart glasses model called "GOD VISION" that combined smart glasses with wireless algorithms. It ensures natural movements of medical staff.
The company described its product as a new solution that enables medical personnel to focus on surgery during long or repeated operations because it can transmit images through up to three smart glasses simultaneously.
The usability of GV-100, approved in South Korea and Japan, has been proven through test operations at big hospitals, MediThinQ said, adding it would seek certification in the United States and Europe in February next year.
The company said its next model, GV-2000, to be unveiled in the first half of next year, would be an all-in-one solution with a built-in ultra-close-up camera to provide medical staff with a different viewpoint.
