SEOUL -- After its successful test operation that focused on a limited number of expensive hotel rooms and resorts, Yeogi Ottae, a domestic online room-finding app, has expanded its premium curated accommodation service nationwide to provide detailed room reviews and recommendations that would match users' preferences.

WITH Innovation, the operator of the popular room matching service with some 2.8 million monthly active users, said in a statement Monday that it has launched the nationwide service of "Yeogi Ottae Black", which provides information about premium accommodations handpicked by specialized "accommodation curators."

The test service of Yeogi Ottae Black was launched in Seoul and other selected areas including the southern resort island of Jeju in September 2018. For five months, the rate of users making reservations for expensive rooms which cost more than 200,000 won ($177) a night has increased by 63 percent.

Yeogi Ottae, established in 2015, has gained popularity from young travelers and couples, by providing simple online information about inexpensive hotels and other types of accommodation. To expand its share in the saturated market, the app has aggressively rolled out promotions such as a full refund to customers who are not happy with rooms, and big discounts to loyal customers.

In August 2018, the app opened a successful service for outdoor activities such as bungee jumping, water-skiing and camping in collaboration with partner hotels and resorts. The record heat wave that swept across South Korea in the summer of 2018 helped Yeogi Ottae to post a 300 percent on-year increase in sales.
