SEOUL -- An employee at a music and dance club associated with Seungri, a member of boy band BIGBANG, was arrested in a police probe into the suspected use of drugs, sexual assault and violence.

The arrest came two days after the 28-year-old BIGBANG member, known as a successful entrepreneur, apologized to fans during his solo concert in Seoul for causing trouble. Seungri has resigned from management of Burning Sun, a club in southern Seoul.

Police said Monday that a burning Sun employee was arrested as part of an investigation into the suspected trafficking of drugs inside the club.

Burning Sun became a hot topic in January when a broadcaster aired a video clip showing Kim Sang-gyo, 28, being beaten brutally by a club employee. Kim allegedly had sustained injuries including three broken ribs before a police squad arrived.

Kim said he was trying to help a woman who was being dragged away by a Burning Sun employee, but the club insisted its employees took action because the woman was sexually molested. Kim also claimed that he was inappropriately detained in a nearby police station without receiving proper treatment for several hours.

The woman has been questioned to see if she was involved in drug use inside the club. Police are also probing allegations that a different woman has been drugged and sexually assaulted.
