SEOUL -- YG Entertainment warned of legal action against news reports that BIGBANG member Seungri had organized escort services for Taiwanese investors.

SBS fun E, an online news wing of South Korean broadcaster SBS, reported Tuesday that Seungri, known as a successful entrepreneur, is suspected of having been involved in escort services for foreign investors in 2015.

The media outlet revealed an edited log from a smartphone messenger dialogue between four people including Seungri, an anonymous singer, an investment company CEO and a company employee. The log showed Seungri giving orders to other people to prepare women for two Taiwanese men who were to visit a club in southern Seoul.

Seungri rejected the report as groundless, insisting it was based on fabricated text messages, YG Entertainment said in a statement Tuesday.

The report followed an investigation into drug use, sexual assault and violence at "Burning Sun", a music and dance club associated with Seungri. The club caught public attention after a 28-year-old man claimed last month that he was beaten brutally by Burning Sun employees. He also claimed that he was also inappropriately detained in a nearby police station without receiving proper treatment for several hours.

Earlier this month, Seungri apologized to fans during his solo concert in Seoul for causing trouble and resigned from management of the club. The singer has stopped all official activities to start his mandatory military service in March or April.
