SEOUL -- Ballad singer Park Hyo-shin beat K-pop band BTS to top South Korea's real-time song-charts with his comeback song "Goodbye".

The 37-year-old's new song pushed aside BTS' global hit "Boy with Luv" to dominate the song charts of major online music services such as Bugs Music, Genie, Melon and Naver soon after it was released at 6:00 p.m. (0900 GMT) on Monday. His music video garnered 155,485 views on YouTube in less than 16 hours.

Park debuted in 1999 and soon became one of South Korea's favorite vocals of all time. He went on a six-year hiatus from 2010 until 2016 after being caught up in a conflict with his former agency and came back in September 2016 with his new song "Breath". He later released "Sound of Winter" in early 2018.
