On Monday, "Straight", an investigative reporting program aired by MBC, raised suspicions based on a witness' statement that Yang gave sex services to two investors from Malaysia and Thailand following their meeting at a dance and music club in southern Seoul in July 2014. YG Entertainment rebutted MBC's report as groundless.
"Jho Low, who was mentioned in the media report, is my friend," Psy said in an Instagram post uploaded on Wednesday. The 41-year-old rapper said that during his overseas activities, he had formed a friendship with Jho Low when he was involved in Hollywood's show business at the time. "I have introduced Jho Low to Yang Hyun-suk," Psy said, insisting he was not involved in any wrongdoing because he and Yang left early.
The Malaysian man also denied his involvement in any wrongdoing. "Low is a friend of Psy, and through him met Yang Hyun-suk," a spokesman said through American attorneys, adding Jho Low was "never involved in, nor aware of, any conduct of the kind alleged in the MBC Straight report."
"It is true I was his friend, whether he was a good friend or not," said Psy, who will make his first comeback in two years with a full album in July. He established his own entertainment agency, P Nation, in January this year, about eight months after he left YG Entertainment.
The rapper also mentioned the night that was reported as involving Yang and foreign investors. "I went to see Jho Low with Yang after receiving an invitation when he visited South Korea with his colleagues. We had a meal and drank together. Later, Yang and I left the party early. I only thought of the occasion as a meeting with an old friend who came to see me," he said. "I apologize for disturbing you with this incident."
