SEOUL -- The agency of K-pop band BTS warned of legal action against "groundless" rumors about an alleged love affair involving Jungkook. "We make it clear that allegations related to Jungkook, which are currently circulating on social networking sites and online communities, are not true," Big Hit Entertainment said.

Jungkook's dating rumors surfaced after a group photograph showing a man hugging a woman from behind spread through social media and online communities. Some people claimed the unknown woman was Jungkook's girlfriend.

In a strongly-worded statement on Tuesday, Big Hit expressed regret and vowed to take legal action against the leakage of personal information and the violation of privacy. "We also clarify our position that we will take legal action against the spread of false information without exception."

"We regret that small personal routines during a long vacation were known to be distorted," Big Hit said, adding Jungkook visited Geoje Island off the southern port city of Busan during his vacation and met with friends and acquaintances, including those from a tattoo shop, to dine and sing together.

BTS ended its one-month-long vacation on Monday and went abroad to shoot a reality show. The band is scheduled to hold a concert at Saudi Arabia in October as part of its world stadium tour.
