SEOUL -- K-pop girl band CLC made its debut on Billboard's Social 50 chart, a weekly chart ranking the top 50 most actively mentioned artists on the world's social media.

According to Billboard, the seven-member band has landed on the No. 47 spot in the 50 Social chart, four years after it hit the K-pop scene in 2015. The music magazine said CLC has seen a huge boost in popularity since Devil, a digital single, was released on September 6, garnering some 148,000 Twitter reactions and 61,000 Twitter mentions.

"The increased social attention indicates a healthy, growing interest and following in the band and could certainly lead to even more future Billboard success," the magazine analyzed. The music video for "Devil" has garnered some 3.9 million views in 12 days. Currently, K-pop boy band BTS sits on the No.1 spot on the 50 Social chart.

CLC debuted in March 2015. The band gained attention before its official debut when it carried out weekly busking performances to help children suffering from developmental disabilities.
