"The record-breaking septet has solidified their status as global superstars, rounding out one of the largest stadium tours of the year and releasing a string of top-selling singles," Variety said in an article. The awards event for Hitmakers will be held in Los Angeles on December 7.
BTS has grabbed trophies this year including Billboard's "Top Duo/Group" and "Top Social Artist" awards and Radio Disney's "Global Phenom Award". BTS was also nominated by American Music Awards (AMA) for "Favorite Duo or Group - Pop/Rock Category", "Tour of the Year" and "Favorite Social Artist". The AMA event is scheduled to be held in Los Angeles on November 24.
As the BTS fever sweeps across the world, some experts predict that the band has the potential to grab an award at next year's Grammy's, one of the most prestigious music awards event in January.
"Seeing how BTS and its music is acknowledged around the world, I think the band has the potential to win an award at the Grammy's," Kim Kyo-seok, a pop-culture critic based in Seoul, told Aju News on Wednesday.
Because BTS has been super-successful with its album "Map of the Soul: Persona" released in April this year, the group could be nominated in the top categories -- "Album of the Year", "Record of the Year" and "Song of the Year", Kim said.
