SEOUL -- Masks will be compulsory for passengers using Korean Air's domestic service from May 18 after South Korea's anti-epidemic center issued new guidelines on public transport. Korean Air will consider whether to apply new rules to international flights as an international body recommends the wearing of masks.

Passengers using Korean Air's domestic flights must wear proper facial masks or scarves from boarding procedures to waiting for boarding gates. Exceptions will be made for infants under 24 months old, people who are unable to remove their masks on their own and those who have difficulty breathing when wearing masks.

In June, Korean Air will resume international flights on 19 routes and Asiana Airlines on 13 international routes.
