SEOUL -- Doosan Logistics Solutions, a unit of South Korea's Doosan Group, will distribute autonomous mobile robots from Geek+, a Chinese technology company specialized in smart logistics, to industrial clients in South Korea.

Doosan Logistics Solutions (DLS) said it has signed an exclusive supply contract with Geek+ to provide autonomous mobile robots in South Korea and provide maintenance services. DLS offers logistics automation solutions targeting e-commerce and logistics companies.

"With the rapid growth of e-commerce and the expansion of non-face-to-face consumption, it is becoming important to operate a logistics center efficiently and make a complex logistics system easier," a DLS official said, adding the company would provide advanced logistics solutions by supplying optimized design and intelligent software along with logistics automation facilities.

The Doosan group has nurtured businesses related to robots and drones. Doosan Robotics has a lineup of collaborative robots (cobots). In January 2010, Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI) signed a strategic partnership with Microsoft for the development of mobile hydrogen fuel cell pack drone software and business cooperation using cloud and artificial intelligence.
