SEOUL -- LG Electronics has released a wireless vacuum cleaner specialized in removing pet hair off sofas and carpets, targeting households with pet companions. It also has a mopping feature to clean stains off floors.
According to government data, there are about 5.9 million dogs and 2.5 million cats living with human families. The country's pet product market is growing steadily and is expected to reach 3.7 trillion won ($3.3 billion) in 2020.
LG Electronics said in a statement on November 13 that "Cordzero A9S Pet ThinQ" can effectively remove pet hair using special cleaner heads. The vacuum cleaner equipped with two large-capacity interchangeable batteries can continuously operate for 120 minutes.
According to Intertek, a British multinational assurance and inspection company, the special vacuum cleaner head with rubber brush removed 95 percent of pet hair from a test cushion. LG said the rubber brush prevents the cleaner head from tangling with hair.
