​Singer Chungha tested positive for COVID-19

SEOUL -- Chungha, a K-pop female singer, cannot help but put off her comeback that was scheduled on December 10 after the 24-year-old  was infected with COVID-19.

"Chungha has recently realized that she came in contact with a COVID-19 patient and voluntarily received a test," MNH Entertainment, the singer's agency, said in a statement, adding she has tested positive.

The unexpected announcement came just three days before Chungha's comeback with "X," a single. The agency said it has yet to talk about the release of her first official album in January, as other MNH artists and staff would be tested. 

"I am dearly sorry. I was trying to be cautious but maybe it was not enough," Chungha said in a post uploaded onto her online fan community. "I will come back in a healthy shape." She was among a number of K-pop artists who have been infected with COVID-19.
