SEOUL -- KEPCO KDN, an electric power grid IT service provider in South Korea, signed a business agreement to build a solar-based energy system at three airports run by PT Angkasa Pura I, a state company that provides air traffic services and business airports in Indonesia.

Under a deal with Angkasa Pura Properti that develops and maintains airport facilities in Indonesia, KEPCO KDN will establish 60 mega-watts of solar-based energy facilities at Ngurah Rai, El Tari and North Bali airports.

For its deal in Indonesia, KEPCO KDN will team up with Very Words, a South Korean firm that develops greenhouse gas reduction projects, and PGNCOM, an ICT solution company based in Jakarta. The South Korean company aims to expand its solar power business to all airports in Indonesia, which has launched a project to expand the use of renewable energy.

The agreement was signed at a video conference involving KEPCO KDN's foreign business manager Lee Chang-yeol and Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah, CEO of Angkasa Pura Properti, a subsidiary of the Indonesian state company.
