SEOUL -- Weverse, a hotsy mobile fan community platform run by the agency of South Korean superstar BTS, opened a slot for Mad Monster, a virtual idol duo that has been created by two comedians by utilizing face filters and auto-tuned vocals, in recognition of their fast-growing popularity among K-pop fans.

"We will open a community of Mad Monster, a world-class idol group which is shaking the global music market," said the operator of Weverse that allows fans to interact with artists and makes profits through subscription models and streaming.

Mad Monster was made up of two comedians, Kwak Bum and Lee Chang-ho, who run a YouTube channel called Bbang Song Guk. The duo, who call themselves Tan and Jay Ho, has created an idol parody with their debut track "Mine Rudolph" garnering millions of streams. They are known for their overexposed beauty filters, exaggerated anime eyes, and auto-tuned vocals.

"Now we are on the global Number 1 fan platform. We were a little late because we were looking for a fan community suitable for the world class," Mad Monster said, vowing to create an interesting communication space with global fans through Weverse.
