The yellow dust which is being blown over toward Korea from China is believed to carry a radioactive material which was leaked from a nuclear plant in a nearby country.

Censium-137, a highly radioactive material was found in Korea’s air and soil in between February of 2011 and April 2011, but only a small amount was detected. The yellow dust are thinly grinded sand which was blown from the Gobi desert located in China and Mongolia and they sometimes are carrying toxic chemical smog produced by Chinese factories.

Approximately 89.6 becquerels per cubic meter of censium-137 was detected in atmospheric concentration. This is high compared to last March and is making some people grow worrisome. However the harmful amount of censium-137 is 50,000 becquerels per cubic meters to humans.
