The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended its travel restrictions on Yemen, a stronghold of al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula.

In a meeting of its emigration review committee on Aug. 23, the ministry decided to prolong its travel ban on Yemen until February next year.

Currently, a travel ban is also imposed on four other countries - Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia. People who wish to visit these countries should receive permission from the government.
