South Korean pop singer Kim Jang-hoon will hold a traveling art show in Shanghai in April to publicize that Dokdo, rocky outcroppings in the East Sea, is Korean territory, his management agency said Friday.

The “Dokdo Art Show World Tour” will be held at the Korean Cultural Center in Shanghai from April 17-26 to help Chinese people promote their awareness regarding Dokdo, a part of (South) Korea, the Seoul-based agency, Concert Tour, said.

The singer held the touring Dokdo art show at a gallery in SoHo, New York City, last year.

The Shanghai show will feature photos, a documentary film, a three-dimensional (3D) video, a model of the islets and an “ad balloon projection show,” the agency said.

After the show, the model of Dokdo will be permanently preserved and displayed at the cultural center, an agency official said, adding, “We are striving to make a perfect model of Dokdo with Chinese installation artists and technicians.”

Japan has long identified the rocky islets off Korea's east coast as a disputed land in an attempt to take the matter to an international court with a final goal of eventually taking over Dokdo.

However, historical records prove Korea's rightful sovereignty over the islets. It is clear that Dokdo is Korean territory historically, geographically and in terms of international law, Korean historians say.

Currently, South Korea has police coast guards stationed on Dokdo.
