Conan O’Brien, the host of America’s favorite talk show “Conan” announced why he decided to visit Korea- to meet an enthusiastic fan who sent him snacks instead of studying.

The world famous talk show host Conan spoke on why he is visiting South Korea this Sunday during his show Conan on TBS. Conan said “A South Korean student named Sunny Lee, she wrote that she was watching clips of me on YouTube, instead of studying for the South Korean SATs, and she wrote me letters.”

Sunny Lee, who introduced herself as a schoolgirl, wrote Conan two versions of letters. One in English and another in Korean, just in case the show host spoke only Korean, Conan added. The letters were written on Sunny’s SAT test sheets.

Plus, Sunny sent Conan a box full of Korean snacks. But unfortunately, Conan never had a chance to savor them since his assistant ate them whole.

Conan ended his announcement by revealing why he decided to visit Korea. “Based on these fantastic letters, I decided to visit Sunny Lee and her country South Korea, I am going there next week and I will air a special show based on my visit after I return.” He said.

“Because ladies and gentlemen, here is my motto, I don’t just get out all around the world, If you send me free snacks from your country, I will travel there in person to thank you, That’s what I do.”

Conan will film episodes for his show starting from February 14 until 18. Conan is to experience temple stay, learn to write “Hangul” (Korean characters), and take part in Korean drinking culture.

Other than his filming schedules, he is to appear in South Korean’s all-time comedy show “KBS Gag Concert” and TVN’s “Comedy Big League”. Chosun Ilbo reports that the comedian is also planning to make an appearance in an episode of South Korean soap opera.
