SEOUL, Feb. 26 (Aju News) -- Tesla Motors, a front-running U.S. electric car company, unveiled its premium sedan, Model S P100D sedan, capable of running 424 kilometers (263 miles) on a single charge, in South Korea.

In a launching ceremony in Seoul, Tesla said the Model S P100D features a powerful 100 kilowatt-per-hour battery, a four-wheel drive, a premium audio system and a sudden acceleration mode that can help the car reach zero to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.7 seconds.

The luxury model has a price tag of 181 million won (168,370) US dollars).  Since its debut in South Korea in March last year, Tesla has released three models, 75D, 90D and 100D. The American company has set up 131 slow-charging stations and 14 superchargers.

Mainly because of high prices, Tesla has posted poor sales since its luxury sedan. South Korea provides subsidies to the buyers of clean energy vehicles in an effort to promote a clean energy campaign.
