SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics, the world's largest smartphone maker, threw jabs at its American rival, Apple, with a series of sarcastic commercial films, uploaded on Friday, that dissed the features of iPhone X released in September last year.

In three YouTube videos titled "Notch", "Storage" and "Multitasking", Samsung made fun of IPhone X, saying deridingly that it has no micro SD chip slot for extra storage and is not able to run two different apps simultaneously. Samsung also underestimated the notch display design of Apple's flagship smartphone.

Samsung's ad campaign began last week when the world's largest smartphone maker uploaded four fictional videos showing consumers talking with a shop employee who looks like an Apple Genius about different features adopted by Samsung's Galaxy S9 and Apple's iPhone X. Apple Genius is an apple technical expert who helps shoppers at retail stores.

Samsung and Apple have been locked in a prolonged battle to take the upper hand in the global smartphone market as well as lawsuits against each other for alleged infringement of patents.

Samsung's witty jabs at Apple delighted ordinary viewers. "Whoever does these have amazing sense of humor. This has to become a series! " wrote YouTuber Joosua Anttila. Another nicknamed Fyr TV said: "OK this was hilarious, comedic timing was dead on! "

Some YouTubers complained about Samsung's ads. "I LOVE Samsung and I hate Apple but i'm sick of this type of commercials," wrote Claudiu Chitac .
