SEOUL -- Park Bo-gum, a popular K-drama actor who maintains his high recognition across Asia, will return to the silver screen, starring in an action thriller titled "Seo Bok" together with Goblin actor Gong Yoo.

CJ Entertainment said Monday that Park, 25, would take up the role of Seo Bok, the first human clone who possesses the secret for eternal life. Shooting begins in April.

The movie directed by Lee Yong-joo is based on the legendary story of ancient Chinese voyager Xu Fu, or Seo Bok in Korean, but it will be told in a modern-day setting. Xu Fu served as a court sorcerer to the ruler of China's Qin Dynasty, Qin Shi Huang.  Xu was sent into a journey in 219 BC to find the elixir of life, but he never returns.

Gong plays the role of Ki-hun, a former intelligence agent who finds himself caught up in a dangerous situation due to several forces who want to take possession of Seo Bok. This marks Gong's first acting project since his hit K-drama Goblin.
