SEOUL -- Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will visit Seoul to play against the all-star team of South Korea's major football league in July.

The Korea Professional Football League said in a statement Friday that "Team K League", an all-star team comprised of best players from K-league, will hold a friendly match with Juventus, an Italian professional football team, at Seoul World Cup Stadium in western Seoul on July 26.

The South Korean all-star roster will consist of players who were voted by fans to compete with the Italian team, which plans to bring its top players. Details of the vote will be disclosed later.

Ronaldo is a five-time recipient of the Ballon d’Or award for the best player in the world. The 34-year-old's accolades include three Premier League championships, 2008 FIFA World cup and numerous UEFA Champions League crowns. His resume is unmatched amongst any athletes and is considered one of the highest paid athletes in the world, bringing in $108 million in 2018.

The superstar visited Seoul in 2007 when Manchester United played FC Seoul in an exhibition match where Ronaldo led his team to score a clean 4-0 victory. He was to visit South Korea in July last year to promote SIXPAD, a muscle training gear, but the trip was canceled due to his tight schedule.
